The destruction of American classical liberal education has followed an endless progression of bad actors and radical ideas that promote a common ideology……gain control American education to advance the goals of Marxism.

Progressive public education emphasizes work skills training and consensus, not intellectual excellence and personal achievement. Beginning with Horace Mann and the Massachusetts experiment in the Prussian model of programmed learning; we have watched our great republic fall from first to near last in science, math, English and other critical subjects of traditional liberal education. Today nearly half of all graduates of public high schools test as functionally illiterate and incapable of the most basic mathematical skills. A progression of public education initiatives such as No Child Left Behind, Education for All, and Common Core have not only not improved public education, they have accelerated the decline to the point where America is facing a future where we are no longer a leader in science and technology. This is not an accident!! The United States of America was clearly identified as the greatest threat to world communism, and a very organized effort by committed Marxists to destroy our basic institutions has been in place for at least a century.

Communist ideologue Antonio Gramschi referred to this process of institutional sabotage as “the long march”. Traditional liberal classical education was based on biblically based standards of personal conduct, respect for traditional family structure, emphasis on the importance of individualism and a patriotic sense of American exceptionalism. With the preparatory help of academic insiders like John Dewey, our teacher’s colleges were co-opted by Marxist intellectuals from the Frankfurt school and with money from tax exempt Foundations the process of re-educating our educators into stooges of collectivist indoctrination has progressed for nearly a century.

With the indefinite closure of public schools to threats of COVID-19, the need to explore home schooling options becomes even more obvious to those concerned about the future of our once great republic. Dr. Duke Pesta – is the Director of Freedom Project Academy, host of the Dr. Duke Show podcast, and a tenured professor of English at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. He received his M.A. in Renaissance literature from John Carroll University and his PhD in Shakespeare and Renaissance literature from Purdue University.
